Farmers’ Door Step Delivery of Technology In Vaishali

In our state of Bihar, agriculture is the true capital of the 81% rural population. Our farmers are mostly marginal and small who is resource poor too. The role of women farmers in maintaining Small Farm Agriculture has immense potentialities in Bihar. It is difficult for them (especially women farmers) to go away from their village to attend training program etc leaving aside their daily farm and home works. If marginal, small and women farmers take up the program such as raising of vegetable nursery, growing short duration, quick growing, early vegetables, aromatic herbs and organic turmeric, they will be able to get regular income which will make them to live with dignity. These words were told by Mr. Alok Kumar, Managing Director of the foundation while addressing the farmers at Hariharpur village. Dr. K R Maurya, Director Inductus Foundation told the farmers to take up growing of green leaves of coriander which has high demand in the market through out the year. He told the farmers to grow specific variety of coriander for leaves such as Rajendra swati, Punjabi dhania, UD46. He also suggested the farmers to treat the coriander seeds with Rhizobium culture among quick growing vegetables spinach, radish, and early cauliflowers can be grown for quick and regular income. Dr. Maurya further stress that landless women farmers should grow bean, sponge gourd and ash gourd.

 

Dr. Brajesh Shahi, Program Coordinator helped Inductus Foundation to select the landless women labourers of schedule caste communities where a program for regular income generation and nutritional security launched. The selected landless women labourers were given seeds of high yielding variety of Indian bean and sponge gourd.

 

Scientists of Inductus Foundation Patna, visited Hariharpur village of Vaishali districts for farmers’ door step delivery of high value crops technology in Vaishali district first of all. This is a unique program in which this organization has decided to visit different villages of Vaishali districts to deliver relevant and scientific technology to enhance.
